Casa Mexicana
The myth goes that when Casa Mexicana opened in 1986 it was only the forth Mexican restaurant in Britain. Whether this is true or not, the success and accreditation it has achieved is almost unmatched in the city. The menu is authentic, adventurous and well researched. Certainly much of the menu is hot (in the eye-watering chilli sense) so show a little reserve before you ask for the hottest item on offer. The deserts are disappointing in comparison, but its Central American feel and late licence mean you don't want to be rushing off too quick after you've eaten yourself giddy.
