Forester Arms
This historic little pub injects Gloucester Road with a burst of an old-fashioned kind of England. Although not the best place for a first date, the locals are friendly and the manliness of it all quickly fades away into the cosy background. Upstairs you can shoot a bit of pool, watch a bit of sport or just eat go right ahead and eat your nuts (they sell nuts – don't do anything silly now). The drinks are as cheap as chips and Friday nights offer R 'n' B and hip hop for all the old blokes and yourself to groove to. Quite a revelation.
