'The best espresso this side of Milan'? Possibly, if you like it crazily strong and rather bitter – no matter how much sugar you throw in. However, they must be doing something right as Caffé Nero is currently the largest coffee retailer in the UK. This one, despite being in the busy heart of Bristol, is usually charmingly relaxed and rather empty. Pictures of beautiful Europeans on the walls will have you dreaming of a world where every man is handsome and every woman wears huge sunglasses, letting her ethereal hair drape into the elegant coffee.
