O2 Academy Bristol
Part of the fast-growing chain – the Academy Music Group – Bristol's version has quickly become a popular venue for all types of music loving folk. Despite the fact that it boasts the grimiest, most soul-destroying atmosphere in the West Country, the Academy certainly does attract the big names. Gary Numan, Pendulum, Public Enemy, Blondie, DJ Shadow and The Charlatans make this vast club as diverse as it is dingy. Nights such as Ramshackle haul in the students and locals alike, willing to endure the vile sounds of DJ Dan. It also has a baby venue upstairs, which is rather endearing really.
