The Hope and Anchor
The Hope and Anchor is a charming pub, one of those oldy-worldy establishments with so much wood that it smells like a very large hamster's cage. It boasts a variety of six cask ales of which they are especially proud so expect to be force-fed tasters that you haven't asked for. Brilliant, gimme more. The food is traditional and inventive and the sausage and mash is an all time favourite. As an extra delight, go and sit in the garden out back and pretend you're in a Midsummer Night's Dream. You'll see what we mean.
