Some might say that the Berkeley's period 'whispering dome' arguably gives this pub just a bit more character than your average colony of the JD Wetherspoon empire, but it's debatable whether anyone would want to hear their conversation rattling round this near-silent room (as usual with these places, there's no music). It's no use pretending things are any other way – the reason we like it is because it sells large measures at low prices. It's a good place for a very swiftly downed pint on the way into town, but you wouldn't want to make it your local.
