The Lansdown
The Lansdown is one of those rare places where the staff are genuinely friendly, rather than just professionally chipper, and won't freeze over and treat you like something they've stepped in if you happen to be a student. You want to book the top floor for an event? Fine. You also need a barbecue laid on? No problem. You need it all by next week? Nothing to worry about. There's a good sized beer garden, and it's partly under cover so you can take refuge if the weather isn't always as lovely and sunny as the folks behind the bar. And let's face it; it probably won't be.
