Fiddlers Club

Like the poor kids at Itchy's school whose surname was Down, and whose 'funny' parents saw fit to christen them Ben and Neil, this venue's comical title prompts more snorting than when Pete and Kate had Richard Bacon over for tea. In any case, Fiddlers is packed to the rafters with the cream of live artists (Manu Chao, Nithin Sawhney, Lee Scratch Perry, Robert Plant, Magic Numbers, KT Tunstall...), and run by a passionate family team who really know their musical onions. Great for rocking jazz, world music and more off-the-wall retro acts - the lady with the spiky baps pictured below is from an outrageous 70s and 80s party outfit called Doreen Doreen. Bet she's had her Soreen. Getting to the club isn't half as hard as you'd think and the ambiance is twice as good as you could imagine. Licensed until 2am, once you're in, you'll want to fiddlestick around.
