Entering The Hatchet on your average Friday Night is perhaps not for the faint of heart. Yet with its strange blend of quaint Elizabethan architecture and pre-Ramshackle Goth biker bar atmosphere there is something weirdly, almost perversely, charming about the Hatchet. With its very reasonable prices it's also guaranteed to have you head banging and issuing a victorious war cry of 'Led Zep rules' before the evening is out; even if you go in there a Cliff Richard fan they'll soon scare you straight.
