Level, The (closed)
Heavily promoted in studentville, but don't be put off by the annoying guy with a megaphone driving around in his old banger all day –we've all got to earn our keep. The management seem desperate to get the club nights known but don't worry about the basics, such as making sure you don't have to stand in a bloody queue for ages. Having said that, the bouncers are pretty fit so we won't complain too much. Two levels of a designer's masterpiece with a funky 70s airport theme –think stylish blue lighting and silver furnishings, huge glass windows and a retro departure lounge. Note the cute touches like the illuminated map of the world downstairs and laugh/admire the trendy sunglasses–on–inside–even–though–it's–night clientele. Different music on each floor, and some wicked guest DJs spinning drum'n'bass, house or hip hop.
