Bell's Diner
It's not as expensive as some of the restaurants in Clifton – where clearly they think Bristolians eat £50 notes for breakfast with jam. You can look at the world through the big windows, or hide in the back room and feed your other half the famous liquorice parfait and poached quince with a sticky spoon. It's reasonably priced, so you might be able to afford your bus fare home.
