Drink Glasgow!

Drinky-poos anyone? If you're looking for somewhere to warm your cockles on a cold night then get to the Variety Bar (401 Sauchiehall Street, 0141 332 4449). It's a cosy little pub where you'll get to know everyone's name but will have forgotten everything by the time you stumble out. When it's sunny outside, grab your shades and visit The Cottier (Hyndland Street, 0141 357 5825). It's up in the West End and it's got the nicest beer garden ever. When only the very best will doodle-do, the Living Room (150 St Vincent Street, 0141 229 0607) is a classy bar and restaurant, full of suits and folks with a bit of cash to throw around. The cocktails and food are pretty spectacular, as are the shiny polished surroundings. If by closing you're still a lean, mean party machine then toddle over to Bloc (117 Bath Street, 0141 574 6066). The music policy is as cool as the punters, the booze is cheap and, best of all, it only closes at 3am.

Top five cocktails

Garden of Eden, Strata - Fig leaf totally optional.
Uncle Vanya, TGI Fridays - Chekhov-inspired drink in an American bar. Strange, but good.
Rolly Jancher, Social - Drink 12, and the name seems much wittier.
Anna Karenina, Stavka - Not as big as the book, unfortunately.
The Bride of Frankenstein, Frankenstein 1818 - Possibly named after a regular here.

Top five most notable toilets

King Tuts Wah Wah Hut - Hunter S Thompson quotes on the wall; Fear and Loathing in Glasvegas.
Europa - Learn to speak a new language while you piss.
Horseshoe Bar - We'd rather pee through our jeans than venture back into this grotty loo.
Frankenstein 1818 - The ghostly moaning is meant to be there.
Arta - Beautiful, clean and cosy: we wish our flat was this nice.
