In Bristol this May
The first hints of pollen are starting to tingle the noses of Itchy; a sign that spring finally seems to have sprung.
Along with the host of golden daffs that should be tripping you up this month, keep your eyes and ears on guard for the kick-off of Bristol's festival season.
Bristol is a beacon for interesting and alternative events so if you want your clever bits stimulated then the Festival of Ideas is an absolute must. From the 3rd to 29th of May loads of our favourite venues will be hosting talks and films on the big questions, including climate change, politics, the impacts of the sixties, Monty Python and truth (to give a handful). 
Just as riveting is the Sixth Southbank Bristol Arts Trail where two-days worth of festivities will unleash art and music onto Bristol's fair streets. Starts on May 10th. This month will also be graced with some particularly high brow theatre in the form of Beauty and the Beast on Ice (from 7th to 11th of May at the Hippodrome).
Expect to see Russian celebrities of the ice world dressed up and doing funny dances. Be our guest? If not we'll take you to the Louisiana where King Creosote will be playing in the deliciously intimate pub gig venue on May 18th. Just don't tell anyone or they'll all want to come.
To round all of this up with a good fat night out, our choice this month is the infant but oh so fantastic Shake and Pop where resident DJs Jumeaux will get you happily wired on electro. This month it will all be happening on May 10th at it's home of Start the Bus. Keep alert for their special guests.
