This summer's gonna be trucking mad
Before the nonplussed reactions come flooding in, let's make one thing nice and crystal clear: Truck Festival is not a celebration of the latest in 16-wheel vehicles. It's also not a bar-room brawling Mecca for leather-clad, tattoo-bearing mustachios to descend upon in droves.
Taking place 19th-20th July in Steventon, a rural idyll in the Oxfordshire countryside, Truck rings in it's 11th year this summer and has recently picked up the gong for 'Festival of the Year' at the Indy Music Awards.
There'll be some old faces as well as a host of new bands climbing tremulously to the Truck stage for the first time. Confirmed main acts already include: Noah and the Whale, The Television Personalities, Emmy the Great, as well as ex-Small Faces' Ian Maclagan & The Bump Band. Local bands and events are crucial to the festival ethos as ever and you can rest assured that this year'll be no exception
You'll be in rapture at the Truck Stage, elegantly wasted in the Disco Shed and when night falls, find yourself caught up in the fun at Lady Genevieve's Rock'N'Roll Party. Not forgetting of course to embrace the uniquely wholesome vibe of the event by replenishing yourself with a burger from the Rotary Club or some real, local ale from the cross-dressing bar staff; failing that, you can always go and see the vicar for an ice cream.
Weird? Different? You're not wrong.
Tickets are priced at £60 and can be located through www.thisistruck.com, where you can also stay in tune with the latest in Truckly matters.PD
